Earlier this year (but I’m only just now realizing it), Lea and I passed my parents in marriage length. We began our sixteenth year as husband and wife about two months ago.
I’ve also now lived here longer than I’ve ever lived anywhere else. I’ve had twelve different addresses in my life that I can recall, and I’m closing on twelve years at this one.
I’m anything but bored. I may be boring, depending on your definition of such. I’m delighted to be so.
Thank you for this tranquility, God. May I never take it for granted.

Congrats on 16 years! Todd and I just hit that milestone last month. It’s the longest I’ve ever done *anything* consecutively, besides being a mom and being myself. And you’ve waaaay got me beat on the years living in one address. My longest was nine years … from the time I was six until I was fifteen. Over the course of my lifetime I’ve had … 25 different physical addresses … one for every two years of my life (almost) … and 29 moves. Whew! No wonder I’m quite happy to be in an RV! It’s a whole lot easier to pull in the slide outs and take it all with you! 🙂
Denise, we were watching a show this weekend that had RVs on it that were just incredible. I have a longstanding aversion to the idea of owning one because several years of my childhood included one. They were largely happy times for me, but my dad swore at ours ten times for every time he smiled in it, and that makes an impression.
Anyway, I was watching this show this weekend and thought “gee, I could do this easily if I had a $2 million budget.” 🙂
And thank you, and congratulations to y’all too!
