- Sunday was the fourth anniversary of WmWms. Thank you so much for reading, ladies and gentlemen. I appreciate it.
- A quick search reveals that I’ve mentioned Nancy Sinatra exactly twice in that four years. What a shame. I’ll fix that soon.
- Is a night of Wii bowling with the boys any less fun than it was three years ago? I don’t think it is. Yes, it’s simple, but wow, it’s still so engaging!
- Tom Bosley has died at 83. The kindly Tony award-winning Chicagoan who brought our favorite Milwaukee-livin’, hardware store-ownin’, DeSoto-drivin’ dad to life is gone. Thank you, sir. RIP.
- I won’t blog about my latest weight loss effort in earnest for another week or two, but it’s going swimmingly so far. Keep me in your prayers. And if you invite me to lunch, please make it Japanese, Thai, or Vietnamese.
- I read recently of a 47-car freight train that left a Toledo railyard in 2001 with no one aboard. It ran for 66 miles completely unattended before someone jumped aboard and stopped it, after it had been slowed to 10 mph by catching a locomotive up to the rear of it and applying power in the opposite direction. (Next time you’re in what you think is a tense situation, think about the folks trying to solve that problem.)
- Starting a recent-comedies-I’ve-missed thing on Netflix. Superbad is up for Saturday.
