I’ve not had much to say about Stephen Hawking’s proclaiming that God isn’t necessary for the universe to be created, mostly because I find it unusually remedial for him. It just seems a perpetuation of the false construct of an either-or battle between science and religion.
(I have the utmost respect for scientific endeavor, and I also love Jesus. Go figure.)
However, I did note that CNN.com reports unprecedented popularity for the article. As I type, it appears that just under 247 trillion people have shared it:
That’s about 36,000 times the population of Earth, and about 412,000 times the number of people with a Facebook account.
