Lea, Nathan, Nathan’s friend Jake, Aaron, and I spent yesterday afternoon on Rainbow Mountain. It was a beautiful early spring day. The bugs are negligible this early, and the lush carpets of poison ivy have yet to develop.
I used to do the loop trail up there without much problem, but it was a haul yesterday. Must move much more, much more often.

While I can see the t-shirt on the kid on the left reads something about goals, at first glance it looks like “little goats” which made me laugh, seeing them there in the rocks.
I’m sorry, but unless you have puked on Rainbow Mountain, I don’t think you have had the full experience.
You didn’t puke on Rainbow mountain, you puked on Green mountain. Big difference.
Susan, I had successfully forgotten that you did that. 🙂
Green Mountain? Really?
Yes. Rainbow mountain was where we got lost, with the girls, at dark, and thought the coyotes were going to come finish us off, or at least we’d be tick feasts by morning. Green mountain was where we went that really hot day on the other side of Huntsville. Wade mountain was the day we came down and went to Wendy’s and stunk so bad, that no one would stand in line near us.
Geez. I’ve hiked a lot of Huntsville!
