I looked toward unplugged Sundays with a little angst, but mostly with curiosity at what I might do with my time. Would I do more reading? Would I find quiet satisfaction in working in the yard? Would I rediscover the contentedness of sitting still and thinking?
Heh. Turns out what I do mostly is watch a hell of a lot of TV and play a hell of a lot of video games.
To be fair, there have been some relevant external factors. The weather’s consistently been for shit, for one thing. For another, a violent cough has kept me (and everyone who lives with me, God bless ’em) up since Wednesday night, so I had a bit of a walking dead thing going on yesterday.
(I don’t care how many hours’ sleep total you get; if you never have an uninterrupted stint of any longer than an hour, you’re going to be tired the next morning.) It was markedly better last night, so I’m hopeful tonight will be near-normal.
I may try a to-do list for this Sunday. There are imagined afternoon trips with Lea and the boys that haven’t yet occurred, and there are around-the-house tasks that haven’t yet been done. Perhaps blocking them out and checking them off will help.
