He was also one of the better science fiction villains ever. Montalban vanished into and became Khan Noonien Singh.
Khan was frightening not only for his formidable intellect and physique, but because he wasn’t senselessly evil. It was easy to sympathize with him. His methods were certainly arguable, but who could reasonably fault his motivation? A focused, capable adversary with the whiff of moral justice on him? That’s a scary son-of-a-bitch.
‘Course, he might have something to teach us about revenge, as well.
Finally, how can the car guy in me help but hope he is laid to rest on “soft Corinthian leather”?
