This is Naomi Carmack of Edmonton, Alberta.
Naomi was my first new friend on MySpace, and I heard from her because I had Sass Jordan in my friends. She’s a 28-year-old singer/songwriter, somewhere between Sass and Alanis Morissette, with a splash of Evanescence (but without a trace of Amy Lee’s whininess).
I’ve been listening to her album Inhibition, and it’s pretty engaging. She’s not afraid of guitars, and her lyrics flirt with raw without descending into corny. The production is better than I expected, giving a good live vibe without sounding amateurish.
If you like rock ‘n’ roll, give her a listen. She’s good and she’s busting her ass, and that means she deserves to make it.
