Way back in 1994, one of my very first adventures online was joining the now-gone Kiss mailing list run by Hunter Goatley. Recent interaction with man-children (for whom “homo” and “pussy” are high-quality retorts) on the Van Halen newsgroup made me once again remember and appreciate the value of folks like Hunter. He’s a nice guy who turned (and turns) his fandom into good resources for others to enjoy, and does so just for the love of it.
Lots of the cool stuff online is because of guys like that. If you’ve got ’em in your life, thank ’em once in a while. They’ll appreciate it.
He’s a software engineer and still a prominent rock ‘n’ roll presence online, managing properties for Alice Cooper and Webb Wilder. Go check Hunter out at Goatley.com, and if he’s got anything going on you think you ought to be a part of, jump in with both feet. It’s sure to be a high-quality experience.
