It’s 63 ºF here and dropping.  Jealous?

We got teased about a week and a half ago, but this feels like it for real.  The heat is gone.

  • Kill the air conditioner—in the house and in the car.
  • This Saturday, Alabama at Arkansas is at 11:30.  Florida at Tennessee is at 2:30.  And LSU at Auburn is at 6:45.
  • A pot of chili is sounding like a good idea.

I adore autumn.  Life is good.

  1. Methinks you are celebrating the breaking of the heat too soon, but who knows?

I expect quite a bit more heat once I get back to the subtropics.

  2. Really? If you’re so enamored of cool weather, you should live here.

  3. Gerry: Yeah, the possibility hangs around for a long time, no doubt. I’m just delighted to have more than two nights in a row in the 50s.

Mrs. Chili: No, wouldn’t work. I love cool and I like cold, but I hate really cold. :-)

  4. We are in the neatest weather zone capable of carrying off several weeks of 100+ temps but also minor blizzards. I wonder if this mild summer (as mild as I can remember over the past 10 years) is an omen for winter. The last summer that I can really remember as being so cool in August was followed by that stupid foot deep snowfall in March.

  5. I just got off the phone with David. Today is our anniversary. He is in Italy. I just read off the SEC Schedule for Saturday. I’m now leaning toward some crawfish pie for the LSU/Auburn thing. ***eyebrows wiggling up and down***

  6. Happy Anniversary!

Yeah, it’s the first big SEC day of the season. Can’t wait.

We are way overdue for a debilitating winter event. I’d prefer a foot of snow, but I’d take an ice storm.

  7. Chili is sounding so good. In fact, I’m serving it up for our book club Friday. Want us to save you some? And I’m planning on planting my backside on the sofa Saturday to watch me some SEC football. AND Arizona State plays #13 Georgia Saturday night. Yeah, I know ASU is gonna get their butts kicked – they lost to UNLV last weekend. Gah!!!

Already killed the A/C in the house and truck. I love my truck’s sunroof – only thing better in this weather is Hubby’s convertible Mustang

Autumn is my most favorite season. But I’m with ‘seester, I’ve been wondering what this summer’s mild weather bodes for us this winter. Me, too on the foot of snow – don’t do ice.

  8. azn8tive: We do need to get together soon. Next time ‘seester and I have lunch, we’ll invite you too. (I’m told we’ve met, but I mean quality time. Heh.)

I think Georgia at ASU is going to be a hell of a game, and closer than you think. Remember I said that.

Ice is fine. I’ve got generators. :-)

  9. Just let me know when. Yes, I believe that we did meet at ‘seesters Christmas Eve bash.

I just hope that ASU doesn’t get their butts handed to them on a platter. They are, however, playing on home turf. Maybe that will help. :)

We need to look into getting a generator. Our previous home had a wood-burning fire place, but we weren’t allowed to have one in our current home. So, hopefully we won’t lose power.
