I’m guessing that’s code for canceled. It’s not even clear they’ll all be there when Van Halen is inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in a couple of weeks, and it’s already been announced that they won’t play.

What a tragic ending for one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands of my lifetime. You couldn’t have written anything more stupid. At this point Spinal Tap has more dignity.

Shame on you, Edward. The tiny window that somehow opened for you has closed on your fingers.

  1. Wow! Eddie looks like a raving, toothless homeless man who approaches you on the street begging for change. Then he tries to hand you a jar of murky liquid with what appears to be a pickle floating in it. But don’t accept that jar ’cause that ain’t a pickle, brother.

  2. I love spinal tap.

  3. Jeremy: Sad, isn’t it? ‘Course, I’ll confess to looking for an unflattering photo, given the subject of the post. I selected Fair Warning for my bill-paying background this morning, as a bittersweet remembrance of what that idiot is throwing away. I think I dig this record even more than the ’78 self-titled.

Saintseester: One of the funniest movies ever made, and triply so for anyone who was ever into hard rock/heavy metal. I hope you’ve seen the rest of the “Spinal Tap” (i.e. Christopher Guest brainchild) films: Waiting for Guffman (my second favorite after Tap), Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind. There’s also the newest, For Your Consideration, but I haven’t gotten to that one yet. I will.

  4. Yep seen them all. My second favorite is Best in Show. Laughed until we cried, it was so funny.

But Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever top the Stonehenge scene.

  5. I haven’t seen the latest one yet either, but Best in Show is hilarious. To steal a line from one of my buddies, Fred Willard is a national treasure.
