Kudos to my couple of friends who responded thoughtfully and with nuance when I colorfully complained on social media about the primitive, disingenuous manner in which the abortion “debate” is generally conducted. You know who you are.
(The many more strangers who precisely validated what I said certainly don’t.)
We’re going down to get Amelia’s stuff tomorrow. Her rigor for both her coursework and for being prepared when we show up to tote her stuff both seem markedly improved from one year ago. (A little luck with the rain would be nice.)
Locals: the state police have taken an interest in Burgreen between 72 and Browns Ferry on the morning drive home. The speed limit is 35 for most of it. Be mindful.
Ozark is over, and it was top-notch. From beginning to end, it was a production without significant flaw.
The old location of the sorely-missed Hunt Club restaurant on County Line was briefly a Mexican place, but will soon return to a burgers and wings sort of menu.
So I’m digging the new-to-me Dire Straits album On Every Street, which came out more than 30 years ago. Heh. “Heavy Fuel” landed in my Spotify randomizer—great tune!—and then when I was listening to the album I heard another song and said “hey, this sounds a ton like a John Anderson song I remember hearing with Charles.” Yeah, it was. Turns out “When It Comes To You” was a Dire Straits song before it was a John Anderson song.
