- Cajun pasta tonight. It was jambalaya until I found the heavy whipping cream.
- Oh, my goodness at my lockdown beard. I’ll get some shots of it, but only right before I get rid of it. There’s no question this is the biggest beard I’ll ever have, so I want to capture it maximally. (It’s long enough to be annoying now. I really need gravity to overwhelm its natural curl in the next week or two, though.)
- I have finally replaced all of my network hardware with stuff that will handle the Internet speed I’m paying for, and…I don’t have the speed I’m paying for. I did get another chunk of the way there, and my system performs well enough that it doesn’t hinder anything I want to do. So I’ll explore remaining factors at my leisure. (I did determine that essentially 100% of my problem with dropped connections had to do with splitting the cable right before my data modem and my telephone modem.)
- So that’s some stuff I’ve bought. I’ve been a little bit of a pig with online shopping, but it’s been mostly practical stuff. I bought a painstakingly-considered laptop bag that should serve me at least through the mid-2020s, for example.
- I’ve done mostly all right with moving around the world so minimally. The single thing I miss most is communal worship. I can’t wait to go back to church. I’ll probably squall all the way through my first service back.
- There is non-trivial noise about there being no football this fall. I would rather that not come to pass, but I’m already doing without IndyCar racing, which has been more important to me for several years. (There is still an abbreviated calendar for it later this year, but who knows at this point?)
- We’ve made some progress on some yard tasks. That’s good. I need to enforce more of a daily routine on myself, though. I’d already slipped a bit, and it’s easy to slip a lot more under these conditions.
