- Nothing below a high of 77 ºF is forecast for the next ten days.
- I have developed a rude habit of letting a person ask about me and my family, answering the person, and never returning the inquiry. I’m not sure exactly what made me aware of it, but now I am. Friends who call me on my shit—and you know who you are—please help me with this. Thank you.
- I picked up a Home Run Inn-branded pizza at Publix this week. Turns out this is a small chain of pizzerias in Chicago (but not “Chicago-style” pizza), and the frozen products use exactly the same recipes as what is served in the restaurants. I tried the sausage and pepperoni ultra-thin crust. It is indeed good, if not particularly spicy (though Mad Anthony took care of that).
- I’ve been using my Palm TX as a music player, and it works fine, but it’s slow and doesn’t hold much. (Funny how that happens to seven-year-old electronic devices.) I just loaded my phone up with about half my library, and I’ll see how it goes. (One early comment I have is that the Smart DJ feature isn’t very smart.)
- Both boys are practicing daily for their piano recitals. It’s a few more bits of music I’ll never, ever forget.
- As a smart and beautiful friend of mine asks: if you have $459,999.99 for a diamond, are you going to drop it at Costco?
- Speaking of notable retailing, who remembers the DAK (as in Drew Alan Kaplan) catalog? It lives!

“if you have $459,999.99 for a diamond, are you going to drop it at Costco? ” – Well, why not?
How’s yer mama ‘n ’em? 🙂
I just don’t see someone in the market for a half-million-dollar diamond wanting it to come from the same place as a two-gallon tub of mayonnaise and a 60-lb. sack of kitty litter.
And we’re all great, thanks! Hope you’uns to the southwest are too!
