I think this is the first weekend of the year that I haven’t had either a commitment of some sort, or an inability to feel truly relaxed because I’ve had the taxes hanging over my head. I’m very much enjoying this Friday night’s feeling.
Of course, I think some significant part of that is seeing my old high school friend Marianne in person for the first time in 25 years. It was lovely to pour some Grey Goose (or have it poured, I suppose) and laugh with her tonight.
I may work on my aquarium tomorrow. I may do a little cleaning in the garage. Thinking I’m cooking, and thinking there might be shrimp. The IndyCar Series is in Long Beach on Sunday—one of only a few race venues for which I don’t obsessively check the weather forecast, because hey, it’s southern California. I’ll have to get some Dexter on streaming Netflix in, because Showtime is yanking it in its new agreement, to take effect this summer.
Watching the rest of the rain closely, to see if it will be gone enough to put the window fan back in before bedtime.
Gonna try hard to sleep until 8:something tomorrow.
Feeling blessedly tranquil.
I hope you have a good weekend.

I hope that you have a wonderfully relaxed weekend. I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend as well before chaos breaks loose next week. 🙂
You put the fan in the window, too? I love this time of year (fall, too) when we can do that…I sleep so much better.
Thinking we might hit Liquor Express at University/Church and pickup something on tap. If you haven’t been, you really need to…they have 40 different microbrews on tap.
AZ that sounds fab. Let’s all ditch the kids for happy hour.
Ummm, A-Day?!? Hello?!?
Thank you, AZ! Score so far on relaxing, though I popped right up at 5:38 this morning. WTH? We’re taking advantage of perhaps the last chilly night of the season tonight to go with one of my favorite Mexican soups. Shrimp got pushed to tomorrow. And thanks for the beer tip; I didn’t know that. That’s not my neighborhood, but I could hang it off a Costco trip.
‘seester, does my monkey have a prescribed name, or is it up to me?
BamaDan, yes, of course. I am excited about the game as well. Pleased for you that it is cable, so you can watch it too.
“Your monkey’s name is Sinbad, and he dances and does various tricks to delight your audience.”
Oh, yes. He’s got tricks.
And, this weekend is shaping up to be awesome because all my kids’ sports were rained out and called off before Friday storms even hit us!!! Woot.
The high school is playing at Joe Davis monday evening at 5:30 – should be a special home game for those boys!
‘seester – What about The Nook this Friday? We’re celebrating 22 years on Friday.
Bo – You HAVE to hit LE the next time you make a Costco run. They’ve got all kinds of beer in the coolers, but the beer on tap is something to behold. We came home with Bell’s Oberon and Straight to Ale Monkeynaut (very good IPA, according to the Hubby).
I had draft Monkeynaut at Scene in Bridge Street, and I concur with Mr. AZn8tive. That’s very good stuff.
Nook Friday I think is doable. Remind me somewhere other than Bo’s blog.
Bo were you at Monaco tonight? We were there. Saw Source Code. I give it a C-
‘seester, I was not. Yours is not the first mediocre review of Source Code I have heard. I think it shall rate Netflix with me at best.
