Frequently (but not always) when I go to Publix, the fluorescent lights in the stand-up freezer cases are acting up. They’re out, and then they’ll flash, and then these over here will flash, and so forth. It happens often enough that I started thinking the other day “sheesh, someone should work on these things for a few hours and get them fixed once and for all.”
Then, it came to me this weekend: the lights’ motion detectors are working perfectly.
Wow, I’m a moron sometimes.

Funny funny. I worked at Winn Dixie for 6 years in high school and college. With the blue laws, we would turn the lights off in the beer section of the coolers on Sunday so customers would know it was off limits.
The first time I encountered those light sensors in Publix, my first thought was how come I couldn’t buy frozen veggies on Sunday?
