As many of you might guess, I have several opinions about NASA and the way it’s run, and not all of them are positive. But I’ll still stop pretty much anything I’m doing to watch a shuttle launch. It’s absolutely spectacular.
I watched Atlantis go up tonight with my boys, who were both spellbound. This is a real spaceship.

Back when I was a wide-eyed, wonder-filled engineering student, I filled out the 30 page NASA application. I didn’t make the cut, but that was OK. I still moved to Houston during the early days of the program, and Yes it was so very exciting.
I agree, it never gets old.
I understand the science involved in space travel, yet when the shuttle takes off, I still look for pixie dust.
