A coworker friend and I took our lunch break at the pistol range today.
We shot a Glock 23, which is a Glock 19 modified to shoot .40 S&W ammunition. I’m mostly a revolver guy, but I’m warming up to semiautomatics quickly. This gun felt like an old friend from the first shot, with natural action and moderate, eminently manageable recoil.
I’m pulling to the right a fair bit, though. I need to work on that.
I may suggest moving our occasional range outings to the end of the day. It’s not easy to go sit back at your desk after such a shot of adrenaline.

I’ve gone to one shooting range and fired a Glock myself. Was pretty fun. I remember the Glock was a police issue and had a larger clip than normal – but I don’t remember the caliber? I do remember the recoil though – and shooting a freebie 8.5×11 target of Barney in the nether regions. Now that was pretty darn funny.
Which range? Larry’s?
Yup, we go to “The Ammo Dump” at Larry’s.
My first experience shooting a firearm EVER was at Larry’s. I nailed every single shot through the target’s heart.
Larry said it was coz women pay attention to instructions. heh heh
