Thursday miscellanea #370

  • How can we get rid of Daylight Saving Time? I don’t even care whether we stay on daylight or standard time. I just want to stop changing the damned clock.
  • Looking like a potentially epic QB shake-’em-up in the NFL this year. How about one of you grab AJ McCarron for your starter? Denver? Cleveland? Please not Chicago…

  • Anniston’s own Mata’s Greek Pizza & Grinders has taken Best Pizza in Alabama honors, to no one’s surprise who’s ever eaten it. Make Mata’s part of any trip to Anniston/Oxford. Or go to Atlanta that way, just to eat there. Closed Sunday, so don’t go then.
  • Gears of War 4. Aw, yeah.
  • As I type we are less than 72 hours from the start of the 2016 IndyCar Series season. Weather looks dicey in St. Petersburg for Sunday. Hope we have a small enough amount of rain to run. Can’t wait!
  • My Madison Square Mall posts have gotten a lot of attention this week, thanks to a widely circulated photo album and my friend Terri’s tagging me. I’m ready for something to start happening there. Anytime, new owners. Start making it better, and I promise you enthusiastic BoWilliams.com blogging!

  1. I’m with you on the absurd habit of changing the clock twice a year. Is this something we do because, “This is just what we do?” We go off of daylight saving for around 4 months. What is the point? I move that we set the clock back 30 minutes this weekend and never touch it again. How is that for compromise?

    • Let’s see how this heat challenge goes first. The waiver I signed mentions “other secret seasonings and spices” in addition to the hot peppers. If these tacos are jacked up to the stratosphere with pepper extract, then I won’t be amused. If they’re well-crafted food that just happens to include the hottest peppers in the world, then we’ll see.
