Most Muslims are not radicalized, but way too many are

Well, I don’t know about you, but I was totally caught by surprise that the San Bernadino shooters were radical Muslims. I mean, what are the odds? Every religion has radicals, we are endlessly told. So it’s Islam again? Uncanny. Simply uncanny.

Sigh. It really would be funny if it weren’t so grave.

Not that it’s nearly the most important consideration, but have you ever considered how ridiculous we are going to look to historians, 50 or 100 years hence? We have huge swaths of people professing a violent, barbaric strain of Islam. They chant “Death to America!” They behead Westerners for sport and spectacle. They threaten our homeland openly and repeatedly.

Then, we find out that two people who shot up a developmental disability center with assault rifles while wearing body armor, killing 14 people and wounding 21 more, are Muslim, with an “IED factory” discovered at their residence, and our esteemed president pretends there is still some significant mystery as to why they did it.

I imagine those historians over a whiskey saying “look how diligently and tenaciously these radical Muslims were killing Americans in the name of Allah, and the Americans’ primary response to it was to try not to hurt their feelings! Can you believe that?”

Is there no prominent Democrat with the backbone to point out this lunacy?

Is there no mainsteam media outlet with the integrity to call this problem an obvious one, and not one of nuance?

Most Muslims are not radicalized. But way, way too many are. There are far more radicals in Islam than in any other religion, and they pose a grave threat to civilized society.

That any Westerner should find the preceding paragraph at all controversial is disheartening, as well as ludicrous.

They are organized. They are well-financed. They are relentless. They are not to be appeased. They are to be destroyed.

And our ostensible leadership won’t even name the enemy.
