Sixteen & Successful

lastoneBoWilliams.com readers, meet Abby Hathorn.

Abby first hit my radar several months ago, with her blog Vintage Inspired Passionista. It’s not a site in which I’d necessarily be inherently interested. However, it is clearly put together with a lot of care. She’s a good writer and photographer.

(I discovered just a few days ago that I was adding five or six years to her age. That’s a testimony to the quality and the polish of her material.)

Abby just started a new blog called Sixteen & Successful. It seeks to help tween to teen to young adult girls/women navigate their lives and realize their potential.

Sixteen & Successful has ERICA as its mission statement. That’s Empowering Relationships to Inspire and Celebrate Accomplishments. That’s:

  • Empowering tween and teen girls to create a personal style that is fashionable, affordable, and modest.
  • Relationships built on mutual respect, honesty, and positive outlooks.
  • Inspiring others to be captivatingly confident, enthusiastically empathetic, and genuinely graceful.
  • Celebrating each other, good behavior, and beauty.
  • Accomplishments are not measured by the number of awards, trophies, or friends one has, but by one’s personal satisfaction and happiness.

I think Abby is all over some things that are important not only to the young women she wants to help, but to the viability of Western civilization. Pay attention. This is a gifted, principled, and driven young lady. Glad you’re out there, Abby. Best of luck with Sixteen & Successful!

  1. You are so right. If we empower our young women, we empower the earth. Abby Hathorn, a young woman I know personally, has much to offer. It would be great for your two audiences to understand you have the same message.

    • Gayle, thank you for writing, and welcome! Empowerment is exactly the right word – real empowerment not subject to the constraints of political correctness.
