I’ve encountered the idea of a letter to my 16-year-old self more than once this week, which makes me think it’s a Thing of which I’m not aware. Someone Influential has recommended that we think and write about such this week.
And here is another Sentence with infuriatingly Random capitalization.
There are really only three things I’d say to that 16-year-old
dumbass teenager in 1987. In ascending order of importance:
- Dude, you’re not pursuing scholarship opportunities nearly aggressively enough, and you need to take the ACT at least twice.
- Try harder to stay a virgin than you’re going to in the next year or two. You’ll wish you had. Plus, you’ve convinced yourself that all kinds of stuff beyond kissing doesn’t count, so there’s some consolation in that. Be tough.
- PUT THAT FUCKING CIGARETTE DOWN. RIGHT NOW.
Y’all have a good weekend.
