Thursday miscellanea #182

  • I’m going to see Kate this morning.  I had a cavity last time.  That makes it feel like I’m going to have one this time.  (Never mind that last time was the first one in 12 years, and 12 years ago was the first one ever.)
  • We have some more seasonal days on deck, but nowhere near a freeze.  I suppose everyone’s planted by now and a freeze would be bad on balance, right?  Think of that when you’re sitting outside trying to enjoy a nice summer night four months from now, and you can’t because the mosquitoes are threatening to carry you off.
  • One of my favorite coworkers frequently passes out Dum Dums in the bay.  Did you know the Spangler Candy Company produces 9,000,000 Dum Dum Pops daily, and also produces 45% of the nation’s candy cane supply?
  • Spending $30 bumping the RAM from 1GB to 2GB in my netbook has me plausibly considering taking it through the end of Windows XP’s support cycle (two years from Sunday).
  • Speaking of Windows, I’m enjoying my Windows Phone that used to belong to someone who lost his luggage.
  • Heartbreaking Dawns 1498 isn’t quite as hot as some of my other selections, but it’s explosively flavorful.  This is excellent stuff.  It’s definitely a contender to keep all the time.
  • The Dodge Viper was always attention-grabbing and aggressive, if never really beautiful.  The 2013 version may manage all three.
