Newt in Huntsville

A familiar-looking group of subversive right-winger types and I set out for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center early this afternoon to see and hear Newt Gingrich speak.  With 500 or so similarly-minded compatriots, we took in a typical—which is to say, quite good—Newt speech that was long on practical solutions, bold vision, and American exceptionalism.  It was also totally devoid of class envy, green boondoggles, unconstitutional power grabs, deference to America’s enemies, and scorn for America’s allies.

You know, I’m rather tired of my president finding new ways to tell me how I’m sinking the country, as well as new ways to punish me for it, all against the backdrop of a lot of babbling thoroughly demonstrative of the fact that he has absolutely no idea what built this country and what will keep it great.  It was marvelous to hear a speech about the United States and her people with no apologies for them.

Thanks for the boost, Mr. Speaker.  Good luck.

  1. I sure loved hearing “let’s do this” without it being undercut by some fraudulent and finger-wagging sense of social justice.
