Five years of BoWilliams.com!

BoWilliams.com is five years old today!  Wow, I can’t believe it.  This is the 1,824th post I’ve made.  Wow, I can’t believe that either.

(That’s very, very close to a post per day, by the way.)

I think I’ve said before that I started this blog on the shallowest of whims, with no expectations of any kind.  It’s such a part of me now.  It’s therapy; it’s goofy fun; it’s whatever else happens, I can always go blog.  It’s sparked some marvelous relationships for me.  As clichéd as I’m sure it sounds, it’s helped me with self-discovery to a degree that I couldn’t have even contemplated.

Facebook has been really, really tough on old-school blogs like this.  I think that for a lot of people, it occupies the space these once did.  That riles the contrariness in me.  That makes me think it’s that much more important to keep going.

Of course, blogs without readers are journals.  This is definitely a blog, and you, ladies and gentlemen, make it so.  Thank you so much for reading BoWilliams.com.

Onward!

  2. Congrats! I liked reading your posts on Usenet too…back in the day. Your blog is way better though. I’ve got a facebook presence but I find the majority of the postings tedious and I read somewhere that facebook had already peaked. I’ll take the substance over the drivel any day. Thank you for running an entertaining blog.
