Osama bin Laden killed

It was at the hands of the U.S. military.  I am extremely glad for that.  I only regret that Obama didn’t bring his severed head to the podium with him.  I am also disappointed that I don’t believe in a literal fire-and-brimstone hell.

Delighted to see the evil bastard finally meet a thoroughly poetic end.

Praise be upon him.

  1. Popped by a Navy SEAL 66 years to the day after Hitler’s demise announced. An extreme sense of relief and I hope it gives the 9/11 families some closure. My only regret is the SEALs are so efficient he probably didnt feel a thing.

  2. What amazes me – even though I knew it was coming – is the hand-wringing by some out there over how “supposedly civilized creature can revel in the death of a fellow human being.”

    Oh, please. Fucking spare me.

  3. Kemtee, you correctly point out on your blog that it’s not the end of anything, in terms of the war. If you mean politically–and I hate that we need to consider it in those terms, but we do–I feel good about it. The win, at 10,000 feet for everyone, is the death of Osama bin Laden. Any more intense scrutiny of how it came to pass is going to be a loser for Obama. Osama bin Laden died because Obama continued the prosecution of the War on Terror essentially identically to Bush. But Obama campaigned endlessly on the heinous injustices therein, did he not? I like it. I’d prefer that we unite as Americans on this and that would be the end of it, but if the Obamanauts want to look at it, bring it.

NHFalcon, I’ve seen a bit of that too. Most of it has been from the young, which tends to limit my concern about it.
