How about just taking the photo you want?

Ever visit PhotoShop Disasters?  It’s one of my favorite stops on the intertubes, featuring examples of poor commercial photo manipulation.

The mangled reality that (often, apparently) escapes review cycles intact is an interesting phenomenon.  Usually it’s not so wrong that it jumps at you (which is how it gets approved, right?), but any examination beyond a cursory one reveals something bizarre, that only gets more so the longer you look at it.

Here’s a great example you’d flip right past in a magazine, but that turns really creepy if you pause on it for three or four seconds in a row:
