“All brain, no penis…”

Real Genius should make more “best of” lists from the ’80s than it does.  Val Kilmer had a tremendous future as a comedic actor before he started taking himself too seriously.

I hope you’re having a good weekend.

  1. Yes, of all the great comedies that came out of the Eighties, that one definitely does get overlooked.

Some of my other faves (as I peruse my DVD collection) from that era include “Bachelor Party,” “Back to School,” “Better Off Dead,” “The Cannonball Run,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Golden Child,” “Hot Dog – The Movie,” “Hudson Hawk,” “Major League,” “One Crazy Summer,” “Ski School,” & “Weird Science.”

If you want REALLY obscure, though, see if you can identify this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EIJbG71SmI&feature=related

  2. Cusack Corollary – All movies are better with John Cusack in them. Yes, even 2012.

Just a nit. _Hudson Hawk_ was early 90’s. I remember ushering at the Carmike in Franklin when it premiered.

So, Bo, when’s the salient discussion of _Human Centipede_ or _Birdemic_ hit the blog?

  3. I think I had blocked it out. Now it seems to be making it’s run(? oh did that really escape my fingers ?). At least there’s going to be a sequel. Maybe with Justin Bieber.
