- My local Board of Education had the good sense to cancel school for my boys today and tomorrow, only they did it under the auspices of a “winter weather advisory.” Well, God says Roll Tide. Heh.
- It does seem to be snowing a bit.
- Funniest comment I had to manually mark as spam this week: “I love to sex English black girls, but I have noticed that not many do porn.”
- Independent war correspondent and blogger Michael Yon was detained in handcuffs at the Seattle airport for refusing to answer questions about his annual income. Don’t worry, though. The border goons assured him this was not the same as being “arrested.”
- Nathan has been trying to scare me for months. No luck with the intentional gotcha, as he’s about as stealthy as a litter of puppies in a pile of leaves. Nevertheless, he managed it a couple of mornings ago. I got up about 5:45 and had begun to think about coffee and feeding the dogs, when I walked by the washing machine where he was standing—still and silent. Don’t do that.
- The pescetarian diet is going swimmingly. I’m interested to see how I’ll feel at the end of the month, but I can already see doing this with as few as two monthly “cheats.” That’s way more confident than I thought I’d be, only a week in. How much more will I tilt? Stay tuned.
- Sherlock Holmes is a good piece of work. If you think you’ll enjoy it, you will.

It happens tonight. It happens tonight. It happens tonight. It happens tonight…
After every school closing on the TV crawl last night, I appended a “Roll Tide” because, that’s what they REALLY meant.
TRUST IN LORD SABAN AND FEAR HIS INFINITE WRATH!!!
I think they jumped the gun, as usual, on the school closings. Thankfully, mine have a half day today, and tomorrow is still “officially” on.
I’ve been waiting 17 long years for this day. RTR.
Sherlock was good, but just a wee bit too long. But, I enjoyed it thoroughly even if my backside didn’t
I remember trying to scare our mom for months. I would do the “gotcha” a lot and finally, she had had enough. One night right before I fell asleep, she came in my room in the dark with a flashlight under her face saying “mooooahhhhhh” you know, it scared the shit of me, I was in 5th grade. She turned the lights on and said “it isn’t fun to be scared is it?” I said “no it is not”. I don’t think I ever tried to scare her again. Now that I am about to be a parent, I see how twisted that was. Funny, but a little twisted.
