  • “Damn the torpedoes; full speed ahead!” Biggest single howler in the speech:  “I still believe we can replace acrimony with civility.”  As Kathryn Jean Lopez asked:  so he’s starting tomorrow, then?  Here is a good place to review some of the substantive alternate proposals our esteemed president claims don’t exist.
  • OK, The One’s speech gets two bullets today, because my bud kemtee at Drive-By Thinking really nailed it.  Go read her “he said”/”I say” masterpiece.  She’s got it laid out better than I ever have.
  • Back to school for Aaron today.  Negative for strep and swine at the doctor, so it was just some other bug.  Those are still around too.
  • I have tweeted my last.  I looked at my sidebar last night and my status said “undefined.”  Couple that with the fact that it just flat hasn’t loaded several times over the past couple of weeks, and refused to take my updates at all a few other times, and I’m done.
  • I wish it’d cool on off a bit more, but I’ll take what we’ve got.  How about a good early-season ACC showdown tonight?
  • Open mic sinks adulterous prick.  Sir, please go somewhere far away from nice people, and stay there.
  • Have a Buddha pear.

  1. For me, the game tonight is like watching a train wreck. Don’t want to watch, can’t look away.

  2. Drive-By Thinking did a great job. In fact, I shouldn’t have read it before bed last night, got me all het up.

  3. Bo, you just sais “ACC” and “showdown.” Did that feel like “Gladiator pillowfight” to you?

Good luck to Dabo, but I think Tech trucks his D up and down the field all night.

RE: ObamaCare – whatever. Everyone wants poor people to get some health care. How are you going to pay for it? $900 Billion but he’s not raiding Medicare or raising taxes? Shhhyeah, right. The Army better get prepared to fight using small rocks and Nerf swords cause guess what gets cut first.

  4. Cheryl: I think 2010 is probably the first year you want to watch closely.

BamaDan: I told my customer that it’d be 35-7 at halftime. Looking highly plausible.

‘seester: I think she feels the love. 🙂

  5. You know, I knew this was going to be a fourth-quarter nailbiter.

  6. It’s just nice to know that a) I didn’t scare anyone off when I started losing it; and b) that there are real, honest people around that “get it.”

    Thanks, y’all.

  7. Stopped tweeting months ago. More of a pain in the ass than anything else…

Kemtee seems to be spot on. I’m pretty worried about my future as a doc and our country’s health care future.

  8. While I would rather have a ‘W’, Bo, I can handle a 3-pt ‘L’ considering the debacle that was the first half. At least we finally have a coach who can make halftime adjustments. We’re a long-suffering bunch who I guess can wait out the growing pains.
