“Joaquin, I’m sorry you couldn’t be here tonight.”

This is Joaquin Phoenix on Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday night. Shame; he’s a talented actor.

I haven’t watched Letterman regularly in years, though I still enjoy him when I catch him.  I’m pleased to see he’s still this comically ruthless with bad guests.

  1. Jeff said that he read that Joaquin is filming some type of mock-u-mentary and that this was a gag for it. I hope that’s true and he’s really not completely lost it.

  2. BamaDan: Want to know how erratic my current pop culture knowledge is? I’ve enjoyed this guy’s work for years and had no idea he was River’s brother.

Marianne: I suppose that would ameliorate it somewhat, but still…sheesh. Being famous is not an asshole license. Well, the way it’s rewarded, maybe it is. Not a stretch to say I’m contributing to the problem by blogging about it.

(And welcome! Great to “see” you here.)
