This is a UPS pilot in an enormous cargo jet who does touch-and-gos every five to ten minutes most Saturday mornings, which carries some novelty value a time or two but quickly becomes irritating:

WOW! They have uniforms ALREADY?!
We live literally in the flight path of the former Air Force base over the bay; I get to see all KINDS of wondrous hardware flying over my house, and touch-and-goes are a favorite of the Air National Guard that’s still stationed there.
My favorites are the fighter jets; by the time I hear them take off (about six miles as the crow (or, rather, the jet) flies from runway to my house) and run outside to see them, they’re already over the house and nearly out of sight. I’m kind of like a teenaged boy when it comes to fast machines, and those things get my heart pumping like nothing else.
We start up this week. I have no idea what our team colors will be. I dread the name choosing.
What handsome guys! I miss my kids playing soccer. Too many other things going on now – like homework and band concerts.

HSV is actually a common target for large aircraft; it has long runways and isn’t that busy. Apart from the UPS folks, you’ll probably see Delta pilots from Atlanta and possibly Northwest and FedEx pilots from Memphis. They’ll shoot a bunch of approaches in a row to get current (and, of course, they can carry multiple pilots on board, so that can translate to *lots* of in-n-out traffic).
