Hey, let’s hit Bridge Street!

Well, I swore I wouldn’t set foot in Huntsville’s latest peoplequarium for at least six months, and I went today.  Weak.  So.  Weak.  Here’s my ear; pour in whatever you want me to “know,” market researchers.  Oh look, they have gondola rides.  Is that a Fossil store over there?  Where can I get a latte?  Oh my, isn’t the fountain exquisite?  Num, num, num, num, num.  Here’s my wallet.  Please, put latex gloves on, at least.

Pathetic.  But I’ll own it.

Dad and I both wanted to see I Am Legend, and it was on at the theater there, so it got the nod.

I must admit, it’s a nice place to see a movie.  For $10, you get:

  • A 75-foot screen with stellar projection and sound.
  • Reserved luxury seating.
  • No one under 21 admitted.
  • Alcohol served.

It’s definitely where Lea and I will go the next time we have a date movie.

The movie was fine.  I’d call it a good solid B to B+.  I think I slightly prefer The Omega Man (based on the same novel).

The mental lapse of the afternoon was running into Brina Bat and Gray Bat and not thinking to take a photo with them.  Duuhhhhh.  They were as adorable and personable as you would imagine.

I feel so blessed that my father and I are genuine friends, who actually want to spend time together.  Too many dads and sons don’t make it to here.

  1. Gray Bat and I went with a few friends to go see the Golden Compass last week – in the evening its $12 – but the seats were SO nice.. and for special premieres and such – we’ll definitely go there too!!
I’m a goof also – I had a camera on me too! It was wonderful to see you and meet your nice dad! Hope to see you around again!

  2. I took the kids to see Enchanted there last week or so. It was a Friday night and a jazz band was playing around the Christmas tree.

Just the fact that I no longer have to drive to Birmingham to get to the shops I love is the best perk for me. Seriously, that gives me about $20 more I can spend locally by not using it for gasoline!

Hey, did you see the “dress code?” No visible underwear, ha ha.

  3. We’re going to see I Am Legend this afternoon. I’m glad you gave it a B grade – I’ve been nervous about some of the reviews I’ve heard.

I’m jealous of your relationship with your father. That’s the kind I’m hoping to cultivate with my daughters – once they get through puberty, of course…

  4. Thanks for the good words on the movie. Just for the heck of it I watched Last Man on Earth this weekend. Was part of a 50 movie dvd collection I snagged off Amazon. (Also had Santa Claus Conquers the Martians)
